A BRADFORD parent has been fined for failing to ensure their child was in school for almost a month.
The mother was sentenced at Kirklees Magistrates' Court last Wednesday.
She pleaded guilty to being a parent of a child of compulsory school age registered at a school who failed to attend regularly.
But the mother cannot be named for legal reasons to protect the identity of her child.
The mother, who is from the east of Bradford, failed to ensure her eight-year-old daughter was attending her primary school regularly for just under a month, between March and April last year.
The mother was ordered to pay £74 in total, including a £40 fine and £34 surcharge to fund victim services.
The guilty plea was taken into account.
