A COMMUNITY organisation in Bradford has been nominated for a prestigious national award, celebrating diversity across the UK.

Bradford 4 Better has been nominated for an award at the National Diversity Award in partnership with ITV, in the category of Community Organisation Award for Multi-Strand.

Chair of B4B, Sohail Ahmed said: “As an organisation, Bradford 4 better represents a lot of hope and genuine passion.

“It fills a vacuum that exists in Bradford, and we hope that we can continue to have that support from the people to keep us in the work we are doing.”

The organisation works to support the local community in its campaign for a ‘greener, cleaner and healthier’ city.

Bradford 4 Better hosts an array of events each month to support and celebrate the local community with recent events including ‘fasting Friday’ ‘The Africa 4 U Awards’ and speaking with judges for the Bradford City of Culture Bid.

Working with grassroots organisations and charities, the group has worked to transform the city, with a big push on keeping the city clean, with regular city-wide clean-ups.

“We are working on highlighting all the diverse parts of our community and showing the rich culture the city has to offer.”

The chair od Bradford 4 Better, Sohail Ahmed has also been nominated for an award as a positive role model for race, religion and faith.
