A BRADFORD man has been fined for travelling by rail without a valid ticket.

Nick Glover, 35, Stonegate Road, Eccleshill, Bradford, travelled between Accrington and Manchester Victoria on January 8, 2022.

Glover was asked to produce a ticket showing that he had paid the fare, but was unable to do so.

He was issued with a Penalty Fare Notice for either £20 or twice the single fare, whichever is greater.

After two reminder letters were sent out and no payment was made, at Lancashire Magistrates' Court on May 3, 2022, Glover was ordered to pay: 11.60 compensation for the ticket and a sum of £150 towards the prosecution costs.

In total, he must pay £161.60 for failing to pay £11.60.
