A BRADFORD church will host a jigsaw festival this weekend.

It will be held at the Cornerstone Methodist and United Reformed Church in Great Horton.

The church will be open on Friday (May 13) from 2pm to 4pm and on Saturday from 10am to 3pm for people to browse and buy the many made-up jigsaws.

A spokesperson said: "There will be lots of boxed jigsaws for sale too, new and good quality second hand, all at bargain prices.

"There will also be competitions and a tombola. The café will serve light refreshments throughout including Cornerstone’s popular bacon butties and soup and rolls for lunch.

"On Sunday the jigsaws will again be on show and for sale from 12 noon until 3pm with soup and rolls for lunch.

"Cornerstone is an impressive building in Great Horton Road with a large lawn and local people can often be seen sitting on the benches or children playing on the grass.

"Church members feel they have a real asset here for the community of Great Horton but sadly over the past few years littering, vandalism and graffiti have become a real problem and a drain on resources.

"Entry to the jigsaw festival is free but proceeds from the event will go to support the church’s work in Great Horton and help keep our building and its grounds an attractive place for local people to enjoy."
