A MAN has been jailed for stalking and assaulting a woman and also breaching an injunction.

Kial Henry, 29, of Primrose Hill Drive, Swillington, Leeds, was sentenced to 16 weeks in prison, at Leeds Magistrates' Court last Wednesday.

Henry was charged with five offences: common assault, breaching a non-molestation order, stalking involving serious alarm or distress, assault by beating and stalking without fear or alarm or distress.

The 29-year-old pleaded guilty to breaching a non-molestation order, assault by beating and stalking without fear or alarm or distress.

The other two charges were withdrawn in favour of the other offences.

Henry assaulted a woman in Leeds on February 28 this year and then broke an injunction preventing him from contacting the same woman on March 13, in the West Leeds area.

Across a period of just under two weeks in March, Henry also repeatedly sent texts to the woman, called her and attended her home address and used physical violence against her.

The court records show this amounted to stalking.

Henry received a sentence of 16 weeks in jail for breaching an injunction and also 16 weeks to run concurrently for assault and stalking.

Henry's guilty pleas were taken into account.
