AN AWARD ceremony celebrating the achievements of African and Caribbean people from across West Yorkshire will be held in Bradford tomorrow.
The event, organised by Bradford-based Africa4U, will be held at City Library from 6pm.
It will aim to celebrate success stories and bring people from across the county together.
A number of guest speakers will be present, while award recipients from Bradford include DJ and community worker Jerry Crawford, actor and founder of digital arts platform Vital UK Tanya Vital, BCB Radio presenter Kaf ‘Muscrat’ Canoville, pHd researcher David Owumi, Dr Olushola Adeborode Kolawole of the Nigerian Community Association Bradford and Osakwe Nonyelum Esther, winner of Miss Commonwealth Africa 2021.
“The event aims to promote the true life and success stories of African and Caribbean achievers doing amazing work in West Yorkshire”, said Tony Tokunbo Eteka Fernandez, CEO OF Africa4U, who is based in Bradford.
“It will also aim to bridge the gap between cities and towns across West Yorkshire.
“We want to celebrate the great work people do every day. There has been an overwhelming response so far – we are expecting around 75 people at the free event.”
