NOT only did Tory MP Neil Parish watch porn in his ministerial workplace, but his wife worked as his secretary.
On the House of Commons Roll Call of Shame the two things may not be in the same league, but it’s still disgraceful.
The expenses scandal exposed the gravy train of employing family members, and from 2017 the practice was banned for all new MPs.
But, as of November 2021, around 90 MPs still had family on their payroll, paid for by taxpayer-funded expenses.
The 2017 ban should have extended to all MPs. I don’t know of any other line of work in which this would be allowed on such a scale.
Thankfully, after Neil resigned, there is one less MP milking the system.
