An employee of a Bradford company has been jailed for stealing almost £500 worth of fuel from them.
Matthew Quarmby, 36, of Victoria Road, Huddersfield, faced one charge of theft by employee.
He was committed to prison for four weeks for the offence. Between November 3, 2019 up until November 25, 2019, Quarmby stole fuel, to the value of £488.20, belonging to Accent Property Solutions.
The offence was deemed so serious and was aggravated by the defendant’s record of previous offending.
He was also ordered to pay £488.20 compensation. A collection order was also made by the court at the sentencing hearing.
Quarmby pleaded guilty to the charge when he was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on April 20, 2022.
