A MAN has been jailed for a spate of thefts at shops in the Bradford district.

James Richardson, 36, of no fixed address, was committed to prison for a total of eight months for a number of theft from a shop charges.

He was committed to prison for four months for stealing three bottles of vodka, worth £118.50, from Asda, Bingley Street, Keighley, on March 29, 2022.

Richardson was also committed to prison for four months, to run consecutively, for stealing four bottles of gin, for a total of £56, from Sainsbury’s centre, Keighley, on March 29, 2022.

The offences were deemed so serious as they were committed while he was on licence and was aggravated due to his previous record of offending.

He was also convicted for a number of other theft from a shop offences.

These included Richardson was jailed for four months, to run concurrently, for stealing groceries, worth £50, from the Co-Operative, Broomhill Avenue, Keighley, on April 10, 2022.

He was also committed to prison for four month5, to run concurrently, for stealing two bottles of perfume, worth £105, from Savers Health & Beauty, Keighley, on March 30, 2022.

Richardson pleaded guilty to the charges when he was sentenced on April 27, 2022.
