LANES had to be closed on a motorway and traffic was queueing after a crash between a van and car.
The collision happened on the eastbound carriageway of the M62, between junction 26 (M606, Chain Bar) and junction 27 (M621, Gildersome).
It was first reported at 2.35pm, according to the AA.
Two lanes had to be shut due to the crash.
This caused congestion to build.
A spokesperson for National Highways: Yorkshire said at 3.42pm that traffic officers were on their way to the scene of the crash.
Then at 4.13pm - just under two hours after the collision happened - all lanes reopened, with the crash cleared.
UPDATE - The scene is now clear and all lanes have re-opened on the #M62 eastbound between J26 and J27 following the earlier collision. Thank you for your patience, please have a safe onward journey. pic.twitter.com/PbCqY4OPB8
