An afternoon tea is set to raise much needed funds for a cat rescue near Bradford.

Cats Protection’s Gildersome Adoption Centre will be hosting its Pawsome Afternoon Tea to increase support for cats in need across the region.

The afternoon tea will be held at St Peter’s Church, Gildersome, from 10am to 1pm on Saturday, May 7.

Not only will there be a plentiful supply of tea, coffee and tempting cakes, there will also be a great line-up of activities.

People can take part in children’s crafts and win big in the teddy tombola.

Centre manager Laura Grice said: “Our Pawsome Afternoon Tea is all about doing what cats do best – taking the time to enjoy the fun things in life!  We’ll be serving tea, coffee and all sorts of sweet treats, leaving our visitors free to enjoy a natter or simply unwind.

“Everyone is welcome to come along, whether you’re a cat lover or a just fancy an excuse for a good cuppa and a slice of cake in a fun atmosphere.”

Cats Protection’s Gildersome Adoption Centre is part of a network of 210 volunteer-run branches and 37 centres, which together help around 200,000 a year.
