PROPOSALS that could see new sections of double yellow lines on a number of busy Bradford streets have gone out to public consultation.

Work to improve the junction of Great Horton Road and Horton Grange Road was first proposed over three years ago.

The scheme will see a new link road created between Horton Park Avenue, near its junction with Cecil Avenue, and All Saints Road at its junction with Dirkhill Road.

There will also be junction works, cycling and walking improvements and new traffic orders.

A public consultation on these traffic orders, a legal requirement before any such orders are introduced, has now begun, and will last until May 13.

The proposed orders include:

  • Double yellow lines on sections of All Saints Road, Dirkhill Road, Dirkhill Street, Horton Park Avenue, Turner Place and on the new link road between All Saints Road and Horton Park Avenue.
  • Double yellow lines and No Loading between 7.30am-9.30am and 4.00pm-6.30pm on lengths of All Saints Road, Cecil Avenue, Great Horton Road, Horton Grange Road and Horton Park Avenue.
  • No waiting & No loading 7.30am-9.30am and 4pm-6.30pm Mon to Fri on a lengths of Horton Park Avenue.
  • Permit Parking on a length of Great Horton Road.
  • Limited waiting 30 mins No Return within 1 hour, 8.30am-4pm Except Permit Holders on lengths of Dirkhill Street, Noble Street and Turner Place. Permit Holders only any other time.
  • Limited waiting 30 mins No Return within 1 hour, except Permit Holders on a length of Great Horton Road
  • Limited waiting 9am–5pm, 30 mins No Return within 1 hour Permit Holder only at any other time on lengths of All Saints Road
  • Limited waiting Mon-Fri 8.30am to 4pm 1 hour no return within 2 hours on lengths of All Saints Road
  • Limited waiting Mon-Sat 8am-6pm 1 hour No Return within 2 hours on a length of Great Horton Road.
