BANK Holiday Monday sees the return of Ilkley Carnival - the first major public event in the town since the pandemic.

This year the historic carnival parade is themed ‘Our Planet’. The town has celebrated May Day since the late 1800s and organisers are aiming for a bumper turnout on Monday, May 2.

Here we look back at Ilkley Carnivals of recent years.
