A WOMAN has appeared in court charged with stealing items including a television from Bradford shops.
Tahira Akhtar, 50, of Galloway Lane, Pudsey, has been given a community order for two theft from a shop charges.
In the first charge, she stole a Sharp 4K television, worth £319, from Asda at Forster Square Retail Park, Bradford, on February 10, 2022.
In the second offence, Akhtar stole two glitter frames, ladies heart pyjamas, 2pc bungee cords, six Valentine heart mugs, Colgate toothbrush, Wisdom spin brush and Thomas Ready to Go brush. The total value of the items was £34.67, which she stole from Home Bargains in Bradford on February 10, 2022.
Akhtar was also ordered to pay a £95 victim surcharge, £85 costs and £34.67 compensation for the second theft from a shop charge.
She pleaded guilty to both charges when she was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on March 29, 2022.
