A BRADFORD man has been jailed for assault and theft from a city shop.

Ronnie Brockhill, 40, of Leeds Old Road, has been jailed for a total of 16 weeks after appearing in court for three offences.

He was committed to prison for 12 weeks for a charge of assault by beating. The incident took place at Home Bargains, Valley Road, Bradford, on February 17, 2022, when he assaulted a man at the store. He was also ordered to pay £125 compensation for the offence.

Brockhill was committed to prison for four weeks, to run consecutively, for theft from a shop. He stole Lenor bottles, to an unknown value, from Home Bargains, Valley Road, Bradford, on February 17, 2022.

He was also committed to prison for four weeks, to run concurrently, for failing to surrender to police/court bail at the appointed time. He failed, without reasonable cause, to surrender to custody at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court, on March 31, 2022, having been released on bail in criminal proceedings.

He was jailed as the offences were deemed so serious because they were serious in nature.

Brockhill pleaded guilty to all three offences when he was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on April 1, 2022.
