AN inspirational little girl has written and illustrated a book to raise funds for a school in Africa.
Amal Rehman, seven, who is a pupil at Lightcliffe Primary School, created Ray’s Balloon Hullaballoo.
The story charts the journey of rabbit adventuress Ray who goes to the moon to get cheese to make a pizza.
Once there, she encounters aliens, spacemen and monsters before crashing back to earth.
All proceeds from this book, which is priced at £10, go to the Masuku Academy School in Malawi.
The school was built by the charity Drop of Compassion and Amal, who wrote the book when she was only six years old, wanted proceeds from the book to go to the school in memory of her uncle, Muzaffer Hussain, who passed away from Covid in 2020.
More than £3,500 has been raised so far.
