A MAN appeared in court after being caught with a knife in a Bradford Tesco Express store.
Mohsin Ali Shahid, 26, of Grosvenor Road, Manningham, appeared before Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court charged with the possession of an offensive weapon.
The incident happened at the Tesco Express on Manningham Lane on March 20 this year.
According to court documents, it was a locking pocket knife.
Shahid was sentenced to 12 weeks' imprisonment, suspended for 12 months.
He must pay a surcharge of £128 to fund victim services and must also pay costs of £85 to the Crown Prosecution Service.
A collection order was made and the balance of £213 will be paid at £50 per month, commencing on May 4 this year.
The pocket knife will be forfeited and destroyed by West Yorkshire Police.
