A self-financed venture by Stacey Irving-Gaffey, Global Cosmetic Developments was founded in 2016 using experience she gained from a wide variety of roles across within the cosmetics industry, including creating and developing her own skincare line, and starting up her own consultancy business a few years earlier in 2012.

She identified a gap in the market and created a niche product offering; a highly valued, unique, cost-effective solution for start-up companies and young brands requiring advice and assistance with Cosmetic Formulation Development and supporting Regulatory Services.

In 2019, Global Cosmetic Developments launched a further supporting service to their portfolio with the addition of a pilot scale UK manufacturing service. Identifying the need for young brands to produce much smaller batch sizes when launching, they expanded into a new facility during the Covid pandemic in April 2021 to offer this niche, and unique manufacturing solution and full-turn-key solution to meet current market demand.

Supporting both indie brands and larger personal care businesses looking for a small-scale production consultancy service; at the time of launch this service was one-of-a-kind within the industry.

Whilst the business is designed to attract clients who need a more unique formulation development solution, the client portfolio covers all aspects of product development and ranges from new start-up’s to large multi-nationals. Their ethos is to think globally but act with a professional, personal manner with family values, to inspire and motivate the small team, and to drive business forward.

She said: “We hope to inspire local women in business that with hard work and determination you can achieve anything, and with investing into the small-scale manufacturing facility we hope to create more interest from students wishing to enter the cosmetics manufacturing industry via industrial placements and apprenticeships in the near future.”
