A BRADFORD man has been banned from driving after failing to report a road accident he was involved in.
Anwar Mohammed Elnour, 36, of Seldon Street, appeared in court on one charge of being a driver of a vehicle involved in a road accident failed to report that accident.
He was disqualified for obtaining or holding a driving licence for six months. He was also fined £180, ordered to pay £400 costs and a £32 victim surcharge for the offence.
In the incident, Elnour being the driver of a mechanically propelled vehicle, namely a Toyota Auris on Westgate End, Wakefield, an accident occurred whereby damage was caused to another vehicle, namely Mercedes. Not having given his name and address to a person having reasonable grounds for requiring you to do so, Elnour failed to report the accident at a police station, or to a constable, as soon as was reasonably practicable, and in any case within 24 hours of the occurrence of the accident, which occurred on August 29, 2019.
Elnour pleaded not guilty to the charge at an earlier hearing on March 11, 2020, but was found guilty and sentenced at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on March 31, 2022.
