A MAN was caught speeding on the Bingley Bypass at more than 100mph.

Akhmed Adalat, 26, was charged with exceeding the 50mph speed limit.

Court documents state he was caught by manned equipment on June 17 last year going at 102mph.

Adalat, of Conference Road in Armley, Leeds, was found guilty via a Single Justice Procedure, which applies to cases involving adults charged with summary-only non-imprisonable offences.

It allows cases to be dealt with by a single magistrate on the basis of the papers alone, without either party having to attend court for a hearing.

Adalat was fined £230 and must also pay a surcharge of £34 to fund victim services, as well as costs of £110, by May 6.

His driving record will be endorsed with six points.
