A BRADFORD woman has appeared in court charged with stealing items from a city shop.

Chantell Deacon, 42, of Nutwood Walk, faced one charge of theft from a shop.

She stole various household items, to the value of £40.45, from Home Bargains, based at Forster Square, Bradford, on July 26, 2021. This offence was contrary to the Theft Act 1968.

Deacon was handed a community order for this offence and must comply with the requirements by March 31, 2023.

She was also ordered to pay a £95 victim surcharge and £100 court costs. A collection order was also made by the court at the hearing.

Deacon pleaded guilty to the charge when she was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on April 1, 2022.
