BRADFORD residents have been voicing their dismay after they were left with discoloured water.

Thousands of homes across the city are experiencing problems with their water supplies.

Yorkshire Water says the following postcodes have all suffered from the issue over this past weekend: BD2, BD3, BD4, BD5, BD8, BD9, BD10, BD11, BD13, BD14, BD15 and BD18.

Although the problem can usually be solved by letting the tap run for a few minutes, one resident in the BD2 area is not willing to take that risk.

Abbas, who lives by himself, said: "My water is coming out in a grey/white colour in Eccleshill.

"I was at my parent's house for a couple of nights and when I came back yesterday that is when I noticed.

"I tried running it for a few minutes and nothing changed.

"I am trying to avoid it for now. I will either drink bottled water or go back to my parents."

Other Bradfordians have also told the Telegraph & Argus of their current struggles.

Jaime Robertson said: "I live in Undercliffe and my water is coming out cloudy.

Claire McCormick added: "I'm in BD4 and when I ran my bath last night the water was very discoloured."

"I am in the BD2 area and noticed it yesterday afternoon, a murky brown colour," Rachael Goy said.

Claire Speight said: "We are BD16 and it has been white since yesterday morning. You can hear it fizzing as it clears."

"I'm in BD3 and my water is cloudy and smelly," added Mahima Chowdhury.

Laura Noble said: "Cullingworth has been affected. Ours is white with bubbles that clear."

Meanwhile, some households in the aforementioned areas seem to have avoided any issues.

Liz Elkins said: "BD8 has been fine."

Emma Lofthouse added: "I'm in Allerton and mine looks to be fine."

"BD6 is fine," Rachel Wilks said.

Louise Bentham added: "Ours is okay in BD4.

Kyle Holt said: "BD10 was fine, no issues at all."
