CROWDS gathered to enjoy a huge event in a Bradford district park for the first time in three years yesterday.

The Roberts Park Sundowner event marked World Heritage Day and took place at the Saltaire site from noon to 9pm.

The event included market stalls and street food, an Easter egg hunt and the Showtime Inn – the UK’s largest mobile pub.

The lantern parade then took centre stage throughout the park from around 8.45pm. The parade was accompanied by music and followed by a fire finale.

It is the first time Roberts Park has held the lantern parade event since 2019 due to the pandemic.

The event was organised by the Bradford Council’s Parks Department, the Friends of Roberts Park, and Cecil Green Arts.
