GUIDING groups across Wharfedale wore blue and yellow to their meetings to raise money for girls in Ukraine.
Member of Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Rangers in Wharfedale raised more that £1,200 to help their counterparts in the war-torn country.
The fundraising week, from April 4 to 8, was staged in groups across the world - and 24 units took part in Wharfedale.
A spokeswoman said: "Some units augmented their activities by holding raffles and selling cakes. There have been one or two other small ideas that have run alongside the blue/yellow idea and money donated - e.g a guide placed an honesty donation box at her relatives gathering and friends in other organisations were prepared to drop a coin or two into a box.
"The Division of Girlguiding Wharfedale comprises units from Menston to Addingham and all places in between."
Addingham brownies were pictured showing their enthusiastic support for the fundraising project.
