A YEAR 6 student who sees herself being one of Lord Sugar’s business associates, launched her own business at just 10 years old.

Evie Ellam, 11, set up her business selling fidget toys after she saw people her age doing the same on TikTok.

She set up her stall outside her home in Liversedge and set up an online shop to attract both local and international customers.

Business-minded Evie has put all her current earnings back into her business ‘Fidget Time’ to hopefully expand her venture.

She said: “I was really inspired by what I saw on TikTok, and I thought I want to try doing that.

“I set up a website and a stall and I just started selling.

“I sell all the things that I enjoy playing with because I know other people will enjoy it too.”

Evie’s dad helped her start the business by buying her first round of stock, but it didn’t take too long for Evie to pay him back and buy more.

“Business has been going well and I really enjoy it, I want the website to take off so that I can send lots of toys off every day.

“I’m very determined and I enjoy what I do, my friends all think it’s really cool.

“When they come over, they always want to see what I’m doing.”

Evie hasn’t found many children who run their own businesses, but she likes the responsibility that comes with the job.

“My favourite bit is when I sell a toy and the person is smiling and excited to play with it.”

While she is still a junior school pupil, she spends her time outside of school forward planning for her business.

She holds stalls at school fairs, outside her house when the weather is nice, and goes to a car boot sale on Sunday mornings.

Evie’s mum, Helena said: “I’m so proud of how focused and determined she is.

“She wakes up at 6 am on Sunday mornings to go to car boot sales and I love watching her independently counting change and handling money.

“She spends hours planning and working on her website.

“I wouldn’t be surprised if she did end up on The Apprentice, she’s a budding entrepreneur with big things in her future.

“We watch it together and we both love it and I think it’s pushed her to pursue her business more."
