A FURTHER five Covid-19-related hospital deaths have been reported over the last six days in Bradford hospitals.

According to the latest NHS figures, two further deaths were reported by Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust between April 9 and 14. One further death was recorded from each of the following dates: April 8 and 11.

Meanwhile, Airedale NHS Foundation Trust recorded three further deaths during the same period, one recorded from each of the following dates: April 9, 10 and 13.

The total number of reported hospital deaths in the Bradford district now stands at 1,207 - 861 at Bradford Teaching Hospitals; 344 at Airedale and two at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust.

Nationally, a further 888 patients who tested positive for Covid-19 have died over the same six-day period. Their families have been informed.

The figures are updated at 2pm each day and include confirmed death cases reported at 4pm the previous day.

NHS England says: "Confirmation of Covid-19 diagnosis, death notification, death certificates and reporting in central figures can take up to several days and the hospitals providing the data are under significant operational pressure.

"This means that the totals reported at 4pm on each day may not include all deaths that occurred on that day or on recent prior days."
