THE Police has revealed the cost of the non-emergency calls it receives.
West Yorkshire Police's Contact Management Centre shared details of the call to highlight the importance of using 999 for emergency calls only.
The team often tweets some of the more unusual phone calls they receive from the general public.
But it has now revealed how much each of these not 999 non-emergency calls cost the force.

The centre tweeted: “Did you know?

“Each call can cost the force as much as £1,000.”
Previous calls to the police’s contact centre have included someone who called 999 to ask them to book some driving lessons for them.
