A BRADFORD woman has been fined after arriving in England without proof that she had tested for Covid-19 during her stay abroad.
Marika Teilane, 26, of Fieldhead Street, appeared in court on one charge of being a person arriving in England failed to possess a coronavirus testing package.
The incident took place at Heathrow Airport on March 19, 2021.
Teilane was fined £1,100, ordered to pay a £110 victim surcharge and £90 costs for the offence. A collection order was also made at the sentencing hearing. The money must be paid by April 26, 2022.
The offence was contrary to regulations 3B(2) and 6(1)(ab) and (4) of the Health Protection (Coronavirus, International Travel) (England) Regulations 2020.
Teilane was sentenced at Greater Manchester Magistrates’ Court on March 29, 2022.
