This month, the team and residents at Czajka Care Group have welcomed several furry friends into its care and nursing homes, located across West Yorkshire.

Dogs Indie, Leila, Cocoa and Bailey have all brought great joy and plenty of fun and games during their visits to Fairmount Nursing Home and Brookfield Care Home in Nab Wood, Shipley and Currergate Nursing Home in Steeton and Beanlands Nursing Home in Cross Hills, between Skipton and Keighley.

Czajka Care Group’s managing director, Konrad Czajka, said: “The pets enhance health and wellbeing amongst our community of residents and it’s always a real joy to see the companion pets and their volunteers at our homes.

“Many of our residents have previously owned their own pets, and they really enjoy interacting with Cocoa, Indie, Leila and Bailey, as well as playing fetch and chatting with their wonderful volunteer owners.”

In addition to the lovely pooches, younger residents at Czajka Care Group’s specialist nursing home, Staveley Birkleas, had a wonderful interactive ‘walk with animals’ visit from The Rescue Farm, which cares for ponies, sheep and other animals.

Konrad added: “It was an amazing experience for our residents who were able to stroke the animals and chat to the people from The Rescue Farm about how they care for all the animals at their sanctuary.”

In addition to the animal visits, Czajka Care Group has also welcomed several specialist musicians into its homes. Konrad added: “Music plays a really important role in the daily lives of our residents. Both ‘Musical Moments’ and ‘Music For Health’ have delivered a very special programme of music as therapy to our residents, who have really enjoyed singing, playing instruments and dancing to the music.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

“We can all see how music can lift the mood, create a positive atmosphere, and research suggests it can also lower blood pressure, reduce stress and boost the body’s immune system. Both the pets and music are great for mental health and wellbeing, and we look forward to many more visits.”

The dedicated team at Czajka Care Group provides respite care, short-breaks, day care, full-time care and palliative care for people aged 65 and over at Fairmount Nursing Home and Brookfield Care Home in Nab Wood, Shipley and Currergate Nursing Home in Steeton and Beanlands Nursing Home in Cross Hills, between Skipton and Keighley.
