A BRADFORD man has appeared in court after driving off without paying for £40 worth of petrol.
Lee Harling, 32, c/o Oakdale Close, faced one charge of making off without payment.
At North Cave in the county of East Riding of Yorkshire, knowing that payment on the spot for a service done, namely petrol, was required or expected of him, Harling dishonestly made off without having paid as required or expected and with intent to avoid payment of £40.02.
The incident took place on May 15, 2021.
Harling was given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay £40.02 compensation.
He was also ordered to pay £85 costs and a £22 victim surcharge for the offence.
Harling pleaded guilty to the charge when he was sentenced at Leeds Magistrates’ Court on April 2, 2022.
