A LANTERN parade through a Bradford district park will return to mark World Heritage Day this weekend.

Roberts Park Sundowner event will take place at the Saltaire site on Saturday, April 16, from noon to 9pm.

The event will include market stalls and street food at the park from noon to 9pm, an Easter egg hunt at noon and the Showtime Inn – the UK’s largest mobile pub will be open for business throughout the day.

Music and live performances will also be held at the park. The Shakespeare Comedy Masters between 3.30pm and 4pm. Guiseley Jazz Band will perform from 1pm to 3pm, the Ecky Thump Drummers takes to the stage at 7.45pm.

Eddie Earthquake and the Tremors will perform from 5pm to 7pm.

The lantern parade will be held throughout Roberts Park from 8.45pm. The parade will be accompanied by music and followed by a fire finale.

It is the first time Roberts Park has held the lantern parade event since 2019 due to the pandemic. On this date it proved a popular event with visitors enjoying the spectacular parade. The event has been organised by the Bradford Council’s Parks Department, the Friends of Roberts Park, and Cecil Green Arts.
