DRAMATIC photos show two young girls perched precariously on a ledge 60 foot above a quarry and the fire service has issued a warning as Easter approaches.
West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service (WYFRS) was called to Livingstone Road in Wrose, Shipley, at around 7.30pm on Sunday.
Two females were stuck on a overhang, more than five stories above the large stone quarry that is just off that road.
Pictures released by WYFRS today show the two youngsters sat on a small ledge, which looks to be halfway down one of the quarry's walls.
Crews from Cleckheaton, Bradford, Stanningley, Bingley and Leeds rushed to the scene.
They used specialist line rescue crews and equipment to lower the females to safety.
The photos released by WYFRS also showed this process, with one crew member abseiling over the edge of the quarry to reach the girls, as night began to draw in.
There were no injuries reported, but WYFRS also issued a warning alongside the pictures, with Bradford school holidays beginning this week and as the long Bank Holiday weekend approaches.
A spokesperson for the service said: "Timely reminder over the Easter holidays for youngsters to avoid playing in hazardous areas."
