ACROSS West Yorkshire around 10,000 young people and volunteers are involved in scouting.

Scouting touches so many peoples lives and is a great youth organisation offering much to young people both in terms of the skills for life and many, varied opportunities.

Most important are the activities, the experiences, the friendships and the fun that is had along the journey. All end up making a huge difference to young people's lives – gifting them with skills for life, and allowing them to learn a whole lot about themselves along the way.

However in order to grow, the organisation needs more adult volunteers.

"We have a role for everyone depending on their time commitment and skill set," said a Bradford group spokesman, "It is so rewarding to be involved."

There are many ways that people can get involved, whether taking part in activities, sharing skills or working behind the scenes.

If you feel that you can help in any way, get in touch. Local scouting groups can also be contacted via social media on sites including Facebook, Twitter and TikTok.
