NEW holiday accommodation could be created if plans are given the go ahead.

An application has been lodged to demolish stables and storage buildings at Coach House Farm on Smalewell Road in Pudsey, and construct a pair of semi-detached short-stay holiday lets.

The proposal says the applicant found there is a “very strong desire” for people to visit the Yorkshire/Leeds area who want to rent accommodation.

It adds: “The research has also shown that there is limited availability for the kind of accommodation that the proposed development will provide, in and around the greater Leeds area, and there is need for holiday lets in this growing market.

“The town of Pudsey and the local areas are ideally located to attract visitors who want to rent short term holiday let accommodation.

“The Coach House farm site is set with a semi-rural, picturesque area of the town with scenic view overlooking the Tyersal Valley, and beyond.

“The facilities the development provides, will still preserve the openness of the Green Belt in this area of Pudsey, and do not conflict with the purposes of land within it.”

The application says local amenities and other venues could benefit from visitors to the area.
