Sandra Smollen who has a huge impact on the store with her can-do spirit and maternal nature, marked 25 years at Specsavers on Thursday, April 7.
Her colleagues organised a little celebration with a video message from other staff members. Sandra was presented with flowers and a balloon arch was set up at the store.
Her colleague, Rebecca, said: “Sandra is an important person in our store, and we wanted to show her how much we appreciated her.
“Nothing’s too big of a job for her and she’s a mother figure at work.
“She really wasn’t expecting it.”
Sandra, who started working at the store when she was 40 years old appreciated the thoughtfulness of her colleagues.
She said: “It was a lovely gesture and I really appreciate what they did for me, I wasn’t expecting it at all, and I don’t generally like being the centre of attention.
“It was much appreciated.”
