A BRADFORD man is to face a Crown Court jury trial for allegedly having scissors and a Stanley knife in a public place.
Yusuf Mahmood, 44, of Broadway in the centre of the city, appeared at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates' Court on Friday, March 25.
He has been charged with two cases of possessing a knife blade or sharp-pointed article in a public place.
The charges relate to January 29 this year when Mahmood is accused of carrying two bladed items in Great Horton Road, without good reason or lawful authority.
These are alleged to have been a folding Stanley knife and a pair of scissors.
Mahmood pleaded not guilty to both charges.
The court took the decision to direct the case for trial by jury at Bradford Crown Court.
This will take place later this month, on Friday, April 22.
