BUILDERS are seeking the go-ahead to convert a steel-framed barn at Bell Busk, near Coniston Cold, to a single, four bedroom home.
Builders Sutcliffe Construction have submitted an application to Craven District Council to determine whether prior approval is needed for the change of use of the agricultural building next to Ghyll Syke to residential use.
North Yorkshire Highways has responded that the application is acceptable, but has said three parking spaces need to be provided, and that the plan needs to be amended to show it can be achieved.
The five frame barn, built in around 1980, is said to be in 'good condition' with lower walls former railway sleepers. The plan is 'sustainable' because it represents the re-use of an existing building, instead of a new build, says submissions to the council.
