A BINGLEY man has appeared in court on charges of sexual assault of a female and common assault.
James Feggans, 46, of Leonard Street, was given a community order for the two offences.
In the first, sexual assault on a female in Bradford city centre on January 3, 2022, he intentionally touched a woman aged 16 or over and that touching was sexual when she did not consent and he did not reasonably believe that she was consenting. He was also ordered to pay £85 compensation for this offence.
In the second charge, common assault, Feggans assaulted a man in Bradford city centre on January 3, 2022. Feggans was also ordered to pay £85 compensation.
Under the terms of the community order, Feggans was ordered to have treatment for alcohol dependency for nine months. He was also given a curfew requirement with electronic monitoring for five months. The nightly curfew is for between 6pm and 6am.
No order for costs was made in the charges which Feggans faced. A collection order was made and court to apply for deductions from benefit.
Feggans pleaded guilty to both charges and was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.
