BRADFORD has ranked highly as one of the UK’s biggest cities when it comes to some of the most important aspects of daily life, according to a study.

The research, by Britainexplained.com, compared data on parameters including median rental price of flats, area crime rate, population density and average distance to green space.

Stoke-on-Trent, Peterborough and Derby were the best performing places, but Bradford scored highly, with at least two parameters in the best 10.

Bradford had one parameter in the best five cities, with £575 for the median rental cost of a flat. Bradford was also in the sixth to 10th best UK cities for population density (1,400 per km2) and average distance to the nearest park/playground (309 metres).

The area crime rate was ranked at 114 total crimes per 1,000 people over the last year in Bradford.

Bradford ranked alongside Swindon, Swansea, Plymouth, Bolton and Milton Keynes, who all also scored highly, with at least two parameters in the Best 10, plus a third parameter in the Best 20.

Britainexplained.com is dedicated to providing information about how to live in Britain, including renting and buying. It merged data from a variety of sources in order to compare living standards for British cities over 180,000 people.
