FIREFIGHTERS tackled a blaze in the open last night near a cricket club.
One crew from Keighley fire station was called out at 8.15pm to deal with the incident.
Controlled burning off Hainworth Road, Hainworth, close to Ingrow Cricket Club, was starting to spread.
"Someone was burning a huge pile of pallets and furniture and it had begun spreading to a shed and some trees," said a fire service spokesman.
The firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the blaze.
Later that evening – at about 11.45pm – the crew was called out to deal with a car fire in Hartington Street, Keighley.
The firefighters wore breathing apparatus to tackle the blaze, which is being treated as suspected arson.
The vehicle was extensively damaged.
