BRADFORD Libraries will be taking part in a celebration of children’s book illustration, comics and visual art over the next two months.
Reading Pictures: Seeing Stories will take place throughout April and May.
The festival will launch at the National Science and Media Museum on Wednesday, 6 April, and young people will have the opportunity to work alongside artists and illustrators and explore new creative processes.
It has been organised by ASCEL (The Association of Senior Children’s and Education Librarians) and is supported by Arts Council funding.
Illustrator and artist Martin Impey will also be part of the festival launch, with further workshops from artist Liz Million and Bollywood dancer and author Salma Zaman.
More details can be found at www.bradford.gov.uk/libraries.
The National Science and Media Museum is also offering special film screenings as part of its Kids’ Club, with films such as Jungle Book, Matilda, Paddington and Iron Giant showing over weekends in April.
