BRADFORD hospitals will not abolish free parking for their staff until the start of May.
Even then there will be some "limited exemptions" for certain groups of staff, a spokesperson has said.
Last week, Health Secretary Sajid Javid said free parking for NHS staff working in hospitals would end on Friday.
Parking fees for hospital staff were waived in March 2020 at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since then, charges for patients and visitors have been reintroduced.
A spokesperson from Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust said: “Following the government’s announcement, we are putting in place plans to reintroduce staff parking charges at Bradford Teaching Hospitals.
“When the charges come in there will be some limited exemptions for certain groups of staff, and we are currently working through the plan for implementation.
"We expect the new arrangements to take effect by the start of May.”
