PLANS have been lodged to turn a vacant building which used to be a funeral directors into holiday lets.

The application, for 46 Haworth Road, Cross Roads, Keighley, seeks permission to change the existing building into three self-contained residential units.

The building is currently vacant and has recently changed ownership.

"The last use of the property was as a funeral directors, prior to which the building is understood to have been used as a telephone exchange," says the application.

It adds: "The new property owners are seeking consent to renovate and convert the property into let-able holiday accommodation.

"The building is to be converted into three self-contained accommodation units in a terrace-style arrangement.

"One of the units is to be three-storey and two of the units are to be two-storey with an attic.

"Each accommodation unit will have a private external amenity space and use of the shared car park and waste storage area."

The application says: "No extensions are proposed to the building – the three accommodation units are to be created within the existing building envelope.

"External changes to all elevations are proposed including new door and window openings and the installation of rooflights to the upper floor accommodation."
