ONE of the country's stand-up comedians has recalled his previous shows in Bradford as he prepares to bring his latest tour to the city.

Ed Gamble, who has starred on TV comedy shows including Mock The Week and Live At The Apollo, is set to bring his 'Electric' stand-up show to St George's Hall on Thursday, April 7.

Although it will be his first appearance on stage at the prestigious city centre venue, it is not his first show in Bradford.

Ed remembers being master of ceremonies at past student events held at the University of Bradford, but is looking forward to bringing what he dubs his 'ego-driven comedy' style to the city again.

He said: "It's good to be on tour. I am absolutely loving it.

"I have played Bradford before. I used to MC student nights.

I like Bradford and I'm looking forward to playing there. It's the first time I have played St George's Hall

"I'm comfortable on stage, wherever I'm playing, but it's great if I am playing somewhere that I have already been to.

"I love doing stand-up, that's my first love, but it's good to keep it varied.

"The Electric tour is my favourite stand-up show that I have written. It's quite rude and silly.

"I wanted to do a show after the pandemic that was good fun. I want to help people forget about stuff when they come and see my show.

"The show is about my life and anecdotes and things.

"I would say to anyone who wants to come and have a night out and wants to laugh at something silly and rude, then come along to the Bradford show."

Meanwhile, Ed added 'Bradford has it in the bag' as it battles it out as one of the final four locations to be named as the City of Culture 2025.

As well as his stand-up tour, Ed is a popular figure on a number of TV shows and podcasts.

He won series nine of Channel 4's Taskmaster and is co-host of the chart-topping 'Off Menu' podcast with fellow funnyman James Acaster.

Ed is also a judge on the current series of BBC Two's Great British Menu, which he brands a dream job.

He will also be one of the contestants on next week's edition of the Great British Bake Off for Stand-Up To Cancer, where he battles contestants including usual show host Matt Lucas.
