FIFTY years ago Bradford's trolleybus left the city - breaking the hearts of those who loved the electric buses.

Bradford was the last authority in the country to lose trolleybuses, in March 1972.

The city had enjoyed a long affair with the electric buses, since its first trolleybus made the Laisterdyke to Dudley Hill run on June 1, 1911.
