SOME flights at Leeds-Bradford Airport (LBA) have been delayed by more than three hours today, with one setting off almost four hours late.

The main services affected are those that were heading out of the country, but a number of arrivals have also been disrupted as the afternoon has drawn on.

A spokesperson for LBA confirmed flights were being impacted by the adverse weather this morning.

They said: “We remain open but are experiencing some delays and disruptions to flights.

"We’d recommend passengers check with their airlines and on our website for live updates.”

The first departure of the day - the Jet2 service to Alicante - took to the air exactly three hours after it was due to set off.

The original flight time was 6am, with the plane airborne at 9am.

Two flights due to get going at 6.05am were both delayed, with one taking off almost four hours later than expected.

One is the Ryanair service to Dublin, which was airborne more than three hours later, at 9.29am.

The other is a Jet2 flight to Fuerteventura, which took off at 10.04am.

Just five minutes after the late Dublin flight set off, the Jet2 service to Faro took to the skies, having originally been expected to set off at 6.15am.

Some arrivals were slightly delayed, with one service actually coming in ahead of schedule.

The longest delay was the first arrival of the day was a Ryanair flight coming in from Palma.

This was expected to land at 8.15am, but actually arrived at 8.47am - just over half-an-hour later.

The next service from Warsaw Modlin (Ryanair) was due in at 8.20am, but landed at 8.51am.

The flight from Krakow (Ryanair) was just four minutes late, landing at 8.54am, while the Amsterdam flight (Ryanair) was two minutes early, at 9.23am.

Even more flights were disrupted as the afternoon came around though and services are still being impacted.

The delay issues seem to have reversed as the day has drawn on, with arrival flights now experiencing the most problems.

The 12.10pm Ryanair service from Riga landed more than three-and-a-half hours late at 3.42pm, while Jet2's Alicante flight touched down at 3.35pm, having originally meant to come in at 12.40pm.

Interestingly, the 4.20pm Aer Lingus service from Belfast City managed to land nine minutes earlier, but seven planes that were scheduled to arrive before or at the same time as that early flight are either yet to touch down or were delayed.

Here is a list of those services:

  • 12.55pm - Limoges, Ryanair - Expected at 6pm
  • 1.20pm - Faro, Jet2 - Landed at 4.15pm
  • 1.45pm - Malaga, Ryanair - Expected at 6pm
  • 2.15pm - Malaga, Jet2 - Expected at 4.35pm
  • 2.50pm - Palma, Jet2 - Expected at 4.32pm
  • 3.55pm - Fuerteventura, Jet2 - Expected at 6.57pm
  • 4.20pm - Amsterdam, Jet2 - Expected at 4.43pm

A further three arrival services beyond that time are delayed.

These are:

  • 4.50pm - Amsterdam, KLM - Expected at 4.54pm
  • 5pm - Dublin, Ryanair - Expected at 4.56pm
  • 7.45pm - Ibiza, Ryanair - Expected at 10pm

Meanwhile, in terms of departures, the 1.50pm Ryanair flight to Ibiza got off the ground just under three hours late, at 4.36pm.
