A BRADFORD man has avoided jail for a spate of meat thefts from city shops.
Stephen Toth, 37, of Haworth Road, was jailed for a total of 16 weeks, suspended for 12 months, for theft from a shop offences.
He was also given a 12-month exclusion order not to enter either Marks & Spencer or Aldi, Allerton Road, Bradford.
In the first charge, he was committed to prison for four weeks, suspended for 12 months, and ordered to pay £75 compensation, for stealing meat joints, worth £120, from Marks & Spencer, The Broadway, Bradford, on February 13, 2022.
In the second charge, Toth stole meat joints, worth £96, from Aldi, Allerton Road, Bradford, on March 5, 2022. He was also ordered to pay £75 compensation and £85 costs.
The third offence saw him committed to prison for four weeks, suspended for 12 months, for stealing meat joints, worth £138, from Marks & Spencer, The Broadway, Bradford, on February 14, 2022. He was also ordered to pay £75 compensation.
Toth also had an original offence re-sentenced. He was committed to prison for four weeks, suspended for 12 months, for stealing milk and meat joints, worth £68.88, from Aldi, Allerton Road, Bradford, on October 26, 2021.
Toth pleaded guilty to all charges when he was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on March 18, 2022.
