A BRADFORD-based tailor firm passed on their knowledge when they paid a visit to a district school.

Owner Imran Khan and Raymond Lister, from IK Collections, based in Westgate, attended Co-op Academy Beckfield, a primary academy in Tyersal, for an event.

With the support and guidance of Mr Lister, IK Collections held a fashion workshop for the Year 6 children at Co-op Academy Beckfield.

Students were taught how to sew buttons onto clothing and saw the dedication and hard work that goes into suit making.

They were given training on how to take various measurements and where specific cuts are made on a garment when tailoring. It was a fantastic opportunity for students to explore the exciting world of fashion and the different careers available.

To put their skills to the test, Mr Khan has set a competition for the Year 6 children. Using the ideas and concepts they learned, they’ll be designing their own suits.

Mr Khan will then pick a winner from the pupil’s efforts and bring the design to life by turning it into a beautiful hand tailored suit.

IK Collections has made suits for a host of celebrities including boxer Imran Khan and ITV Dancing On Ice judge Christopher Dean.
