A BRADFORD MP joined pupils at a Manningham primary school in a community clean-up project.

The Keep Manningham Clean action day, organised by Dixons Manningham Primary School, was held last Friday.

Naz Shah, MP for Bradford West, joined school pupils, staff and volunteers from the community to litter-pick in Manningham.

"It was an amazing day," said Nazia Asari, community liaison officer at Dixons Manningham Primary, on Wood Street. "We had so much support and MP Naz Shah joined us in the clean-up.

"We had excellent support from the community and we picked up an immense of about of rubbish.

"Each class in the school spent 30 minutes picking up rubbish from the side streets around the school.

"Everybody was so enthusiastic. The pupils enjoyed being outside and taking part in a group activity and community initiative.

"This was an action day but we do hope to do it again."
