A PERSISTENT Bradford beggar has been given a Criminal Behaviour Order by the courts.

James Andrew Kilminster, 44, of Kirkgate, Shipley, must not ask another person for money or goods, including cigarettes or alcohol, in the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council area.

He must also not "sit, sleep or loiter in an area accessible to members of the public with any item or article which would give another person the impression that you are begging (such as; cup, hat, quilt, sign) in the City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council area".

The order was made by Bradford Magistrates' Court. It came into force on March 16 and will be in operation for three years.

The order came after Kilminster's conviction in February for persistent begging.
